The Van-Far R-I School District Board of Education announced that Natalie Gibson has been selected as the new superintendent for the Van-Far R1 School District.
Gibson is currently the High School Principal with the Van-Far R-I School District where she has been employed since 2023.
In addition to the Van-Far R-I School District, Gibson has previous leadership experience in the Ralls County R-II and Community R-VI School Districts. Gibson has a strong record of working to improve student achievement, and strong staff/community engagement.
Justin Hopke, School Board president, said that, “The District is looking forward to Gibson continuing the excellence of the district and to welcome her into this important leadership position. Gibson was selected from a strong list of candidates, and she was deemed to be highly qualified and an excellent match for the current and future needs of the system.”
Gibson said, “I am deeply humbled to accept the role as superintendent of the Van-Far R-I School District. As a lifelong member of this community, my goal is to make our district a destination district, one where people want to raise their families and be proud to support, and teachers want to grow and serve. Gibson will start her official duties on July 1, 2024. The search for a new high school principal will start presently.
The Van-Far R-I School District serves 570 students and is located in northeast Missouri.
