Saturday, June 16th, the community came together once again to help Jason Bostic and Leslie Dahl.
The Vandalia Area Chamber of Commerce organized a Basket Bingo fundraiser at the Sacred Heart Catholic Hall. Doors opened at 6 p.m., and the games began at 7 p.m. Twenty games for $25, with additional packets available for $10.
The event was BYOB for drinks but served Marlene Fischer’s FAMOUS chicken salad and Woods pulled pork, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and support.
The Chamber of Commerce also held a silent auction and 50/50 raffles, all proceeds going toward Bostic and Dahl’s recovery costs.
The event was a resounding success, demonstrating the power of community when two of their own were faced with adversity.
This community has stood by these two heroes, remembering their names, and honoring their unwavering commitment to service. The inspiration for Jason Bostic and Leslie Dahl could be felt in the room. Their courage and resilience should remind everyone to appreciate the sacrifices made by our emergency first responders.
