On Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at approximately 2 p.m., Charles F. Reef III, age 27, of Liberty Church Road in rural Pike County, escaped from the Pike County Jail. Reef scaled the razor-topped fence of the outside recreation yard. He was taken back into custody near Locust and 8th streets in Bowling Green by Sheriff’s Office staff.
Reef is in custody on a no-bond warrant for charges of domestic assault and property damage. Additional charges will be sought stemming from the escape.
All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent by the court until proven guilty.
