Members of the Perry Medical Clinic have announced that there will be an open house on Friday, Oct. 20, from 2 – 4 p.m.
Activities during the event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new clinic, as well as a presentation by Ziva Medical Group Chief Operational Officer Angie Schierer, who will discuss plans regarding the future re-opening of the Mexico Hospital.
Dr. Steve Taylor, who is practicing at the Perry clinic, said that Ziva is working to bring healthcare services back to the area.
“Ziva is planning to re-open the hospital in Mexico, as well as other clinics in the area,” said Taylor. “This clinic here in Perry is part of that effort to restore local services. The plan is to send patients and labs to the Mexico hospital when it opens up again. There will be more information about the status of the re-opening efforts available during the open house event,” he added.
Taylor, who was asked to help launch and staff the Perry location, said that he has been practicing in the area for some time.
“I have been in the area for a while, and have been practicing for 45 years,” said Taylor. “I am basically a general practitioner. I have mostly worked with seniors in the Mexico area, but I have also historically worked with pediatrics, as well. We are accepting patients who are five years and older here at this location. We opened on Aug. 15, and we are here at the clinic three days a week—every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday,” he added.
