Visitation was from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home.
Jackie went home to her heavenly father on April 25, 2023. She is survived by her daughter, Gena (Kauble) Cartee; her grandchildren, Dominique, Matthew, and Jacob Cartee; seven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Peggy Jo Perkins and Barbie Olds; and many nieces and nephews. Her husband, Gene Kauble; her siblings, David Tapley, Wanda Barr, and Millie Shaw, and several dear nephews, all died earlier.
Jackie was born on Dec. 4, 1934, to the parents of Enoch and Geneva Tapley in New London, Mo. After spending her childhood in the Hannibal area, she left the home and began working. Shortly after, she met and married the love of her life, Gene, in 1954. The couple welcomed their beloved daughter, Gena, into their lives in 1962.
Jackie was one of the kindest people you would ever meet. She loved children and was passionate about education, as well as sharing her love for Jesus. She made a career as a kindergarten teacher and a librarian/secretary at Community R-VI Schools. After retiring, Jackie worked part-time at the Audrain County Historical Society for another 30 years.
Outside of work, she spent most of her time in the Laddonia Christian Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, choir director, and church leader for nearly 70 years. She enjoyed baking, gardening, shopping, and spending time outdoors.
Above all, her greatest joy in life was her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, and friend. Jackie’s legacy of love and kindness will be carried in our hearts forever.
Pallbearers were Mike Shaw, Terri Shaw, Jamie Shaw, Glen Barr, Dale Perkins Jr. Brian Olds, Matt Cartee, and Jacob Cartee.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Laddonia Christian Church or the Audrain County Historical Society, in care of Bienhoff Funeral Home, P.O. Box 6, Laddonia, MO 63352.
