Van-Far Athlete All-State Academic honorees

Ten varsity softball players earned this honor. Seniors, McKenna Eng-Hoffman, Carmen Wilburn, juniors, Reeve Woodall, Dalana Gay, Ayla Kampeter, Kaelyn Hutchison, Kayla Heaton, freshmen, Kenya Jones, Elliott Utterback and Mylee Keller.

 

Softball—Missouri High School Fast pitch Softball Coaches’ Association recognized student athletes and teams for their academic successes in the classroom by awarding a Softball Academic All-State award to both teams and/or individual student athletes.

This honor will only be awarded to student athletes and/or teams of a varsity coach who is a member of the association. The following are the guidelines to be used for both team and individual student athletes.

Team Requirements: A team will be awarded the distinction of an Academic All-State Team if the entire varsity team has a cumulative unweighted grade point average of 3.3 or better on a 4.0 scale. The GPA should be figured by the high school counselor after the fall 2023 semester is completed and then submit to the MHSFCA via the submission form, verifying the cumulative GPA for the entire varsity team. All GPAs MUST be converted to a 4.0 scale.

Individual Requirements: All varsity student-athletes are eligible. Cumulative Unweighted GPA after the fall 2023 semester of 3.70-4.0. only submit nominations for individual student-athletes that qualify using the requirements listed above. The GPA should be figured by the high school counselor after the fall 2023 semester is completed and then submit to the MHSFCA via the submission form verifying the GPAs of eligible, varsity student-athletes.

Cross Country—The Missouri Track and Cross Country Coaches Association announced the members of the Academic All-State Team. Athletes must meet one of the following criteria: 25 or higher on the ACT, 1150 or higher on the SAT, or 3.6 cumulative GPA.

Four of the school’s runners earned spots on the team: senior, Brooke-lyn Forman junior, Erin Childs, and freshmen Garrett Hopke, and Khloe Wallace.

Football—The Missouri Football Coaches Association announced the members of the Academic All-State Football Team. To earn a spot, athletes must meet two of the three criteria:

1. Score 25 or higher on the ACT.

2. 3.5 GPA or higher.

3. Rank in the top 20% of their class.

Congratulations to our honorees: senior, Gage Gibson, and sophomores, Brandon Kurz, Easton Sharp, and Evan Utterback.
