Services for David Leon Cox, 73, of Farber, were at noon, Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Laddonia, with Pastor Bob Balwanz and Pastor Raymond Massey officiating. Burial followed in the Laddonia Cemetery with full military honors provided by American Legion Post 510.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Cox died at 3:42 a.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at his home.
He was born Oct. 19, 1949, in Pike County, Mo., the son of Norman Alton and Ethel Mae Brewer Cox.
David married Connie M. Maiden on June 20, 1973, in Vandalia and she died earlier on Jan. 20, 2020.
Survivors include; one daughter; April (Sandy) Sansing of St. Charles, two brothers; Roy (Nancy) Cox of Bowling Green and Steven (Georgeann) Cox of Sinking Spring, Pa., along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
His parents, wife, Connie, one brother; Norman Afton Cox Jr., one sister; Mary Lou Cox, and father and mother in law Herchel and Frances Maiden, all die earlier.
Mr. Cox was a lifetime area resident and a member of the Farber Presbyterian Church. He worked as an electrician at NARCO for 27 years and at Bodine in Troy for 16 years. David loved spending his time hunting, fishing, woodworking, reading, gardening and most of all he enjoyed the time spent with his family.
Pallbearers were Eric Cox, Sandy Sansing, Michael Mehler, David Job, Charles Koffmann, Randy Bland, John Cox, Brady Job and Seth Heltzinger.
