Women’s Guild reports on Stafford memorial

The St. John Lutheran Women’s Guild met February 13 at the church, following Ash Wednesday worship services.
President Carol Fischer opened the meeting with prayer, The worship sermon served as topic for the evening.  Roll call was answered by six members, each reading a scripture naming the word love. Treasurer Regina Vogt presented the financial report. It was reported that a memorial contribution had been made to the Ed French Foundation in memory of Bill and Nancy Stafford. No secretary’s report was given.
Committee reports were given. Members were reminded if the sign-up sheet fir upcoming Wednesday evening 6:30 p.m. suppers, to be followed by Lenten worship. Also, members were reminded that the next voters meeting will April 21.
Correspondence was read, and a “Love Offering” was collected. On February 27m guild members will provide a meal for the Ministerial Alliance Lenten lunch at the First Christian Church. The menu was discussed and finalized. Also, plans were finalized regarding the Pastors Circuit Meeting to be held April 15 at St. John. Members were asked to return next month with ideas for the annual mothers-daughter banquet. The next meeting is scheduled for March 13, following a carry-in meal and Lenten services. The meeting was closed with prayer. Those attending were Dotty Cahill, Coral Fischer, Elsie Hand, Regina Vogt, Brenda Elliott, and Karen Morris. Refreshments were served by hostess Dotty Cahill.
