The St. John Lutheran Women’s Guild met January 13 at the home of Dotty Cahill. President Brenda Elliott presided. Brenda led the topic, “How Great thou Art” from the LWML Quarterly.
Roll Call, “One thing you have decided to do in the New Year to further your faith” was answered by four members. Due to the absence of the secretary and treasurer, there were no reports. Fellowship chairman Regina Vogt reminded members of the quarterly voters meeting on January 17 after church.
Silk flowers have been purchased for the altar vases by the committee of Karen Morris, Brenda Elliott, and Regina Vogt. The church memorial fund and Thrivent fund will pay for them.
Brenda has arrangements made to use until Lent and will do others for the rest of the year. Members may put fresh flowers on the altar when they wish. The Christmas decorations and tree were taken down after Epiphany.
A Love offering will be given at the February meeting.
Regina told members of the LWML District Convention June 3-5 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Delegates will be selected at the February meeting.
Brenda asked those present to be thinking about a speaker and theme for the Mother/Daughter Banquet.
The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer.
Brenda Elliott served as hostess.
