Woman injured by anchor at Mark Twain Lake near Stoutsville

Robert D. Sherman, 50, of Hartsburg was operating a 2008 Ebbtide Open Bow Motorboat on Mark Twain Lake near Stoutsville at about 3:05 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, when he accelerated, causing the boat’s anchor to strike his passenger, Lisa R. Sherman, 56, also of Hartburg. 

The Missouri State Highway Water Patrol Division report stated that the “vessel was operating with the anchor down, vessel accelerated, anchor surfaced and struck the occupant.”

The report states that the passenger was transported to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
