Van-Far’s Logan Wilson recently received prestigious honors after the 2017 Spring baseball season.
Wilson earned honorable mention honors as an infielder on the Class 2 All-State Team as chosen by the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association (MHSBCA).
“Logan as really worked hard to improve his game,” said Van-Far head baseball coach Wes Rowden. “He wants to be an all-around good player, not just offensively, but he wants to be good defensively as well. We know he can hit as he hit over .400 this year but he was always wanting extra fielding practice as well.”
Other area players earning all-state honors in Classes 1-5 include Ben Burton (pitcher, first-team, Class 1, Wellsville) Isaac Ussery (infielder, second-team, Class 1, Wellsville), Cooper Hudnut (infielder, first-team, Class 2, Canton); Carson Birck (infielder, honorable mention, Class 2, Canton); Josh Kermoade (outfielder, first-team, Class 2, Canton); Jesse Roberts (outfielder, second-team, Class 2, Sturgeon); and Brandon Hatfield (outfielder, honorable mention, Class 2, Sturgeon).
Wilson was a shortstop and also pitched for the Indians.
During the Summer, Wilson has been a shortstop, second baseman, and pitcher for the American Legion Post No. 55 AA team in Hannibal playing home games at Clemens Field.
He is the son of Jeff and Stacia Wilson.
