A retirement celebration for William Wheeler, Sr. was held on April 2 at the Saints Avenue Cafe in Bowling Green. Wheeler, Sr. was joined by 78 friends and family to help him celebrate retirement from Harbison-Walker Refractories in Vandalia after 51 years and three months. His tenure in the brick plant went from September 28, 1964-March 28, 2016.
The event began with a welcome from his cousin Jeffrey, from Kansas City, followed by his sister Opal Green giving a salute.
