William “Joe” Perry

William “Joe” Perry, 77,  formerly of Hannibal, died at 8 a.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2011, at his home in Columbia, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2011, at the Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal.
Pastor Brian Thieme will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal.
Mr. Perry was born on June 11, 1934, in Hannibal, the son of Richard A.C. and Elizabeth Mae O’Keefe Perry. He married Louella Thompson on September 5, 1970, in Pekin, Ill.; she preceded him in death on November 26, 2009.
His parents and a brother, Robert Perry, preceded him in death.
He is survived by two daughters, Beth Heltibrand of St. Louis, Mo., and Sarah Jo (Thomas) Stone of Columbia, Mo; three brothers, Dick Perry, Carl Perry and John Perry; three grand children, Krys Heltibrand, Nora Stone and Meredith Stone.
Joe drove a truck for 51 years, 22 with Schneider National Bulk Carriers.  During his career he earned numerous awards that included; a Safe Driving Proclamation by Gov. John Ashcroft in 1987 for Missouri Driver of the Month, Missouri Motor Carriers for Outstanding Service, and the Courtesy & Safety Award from the American Trucking Association, Inc.
He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed working on and fixing anything with an engine, especially trucks and cars. He liked having coffee and laughing with family and friends.
Pallbearers are Dave McNeil, Tom Culwell, Scott Houser, Roy Gardner, Mark Thompson, and Jim Thompson.
Memorials can be made to the Trinity Lutheran Endowment Fund, Columbia, Mo.
