Willa G. Senger, 74, of Springfield, Ill. died at 3:54 pm, Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center.  She was born May 20, 1939, on the farm in Pike County, Mo., near Curryville to Rosco and Charlotte Smith Hobbs.
She married Richard “Dick” L. Senger on March 19, 1960, at Sacred Heart Church Rectory and he preceded her in death on August 6, 2007.
Survivors include one daughter, Maria (Jeff) Kerwin of Springfield, Ill.; three sons Cary (Rita) Senger, Mark (Karen) Senger and David (Karen) Senger, all of Springfield, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, John, Kristopher, Katherine, Julie, David, Jessica, Laura, Andrew, Mary, Sarah, Ginny, Brian and Grace; four great-grandchildren, Brenden, Jayla, Aayla, Lily and a baby to be named later; two sisters, Connie Wright of Holden, Mo. and Cora (David) Bethard of Carlinville and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She had a 40 year nursing career, working for City Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., St. John’s Hospital, Springfield Clinic, SIU School of Medicine and Humana Hospital. She retired from the State of Illinois.
Willa was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She was a volunteer cook for St. John’s Breadline and periodically prepared meals for Ronald McDonald House.  She also volunteered as a tutor at Lawrence Adult Education Center and was an active volunteer with Little League Baseball and at Sacred Heart Church, Blessed Sacrament Church and Ursaline Academy. She was a member of Altrusa International.
Visitation was scheduled for 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 4 p.m.
Funeral Mass was scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Reverend Jeff Grant officiating.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
