Since 1892, Waters Furniture took pride in offering “high quality furniture at the lowest price possible.”
While there will still be low prices being offered for another 60-90 days, Waters Furniture, as it has been known in Vandalia for the last 126 years, has announced the closing of their store located at 114 E. State St.
At the conclusion of their “Great $3 Million Store Closing Sale,” which begins on Friday, August 10 at 10 a.m., they will be concentrating on other business interests. The location will be closed until the sale begins. All of the inventory at the Vandalia location will eventually be moved and the buildings will be vacated as they are “selling out to the bare walls.”
“We have enjoyed a tremendous relationship with the people of Vandalia and surrounding communities,” said owners Chris Watson, Bryan Wright, and Greg Wright in a combined statement. “We have made the decision to close our store and sell out our entire and complete stock.”
Countless furniture and accessories from several manufacturers will be for sale along with $1,000,000 of hand knotted and handmade rugs.
The Lynch Sales Company, an internationally known sale event specialist based in Chattanooga, Tenn., will coordinate the sale.
“We expect tremendous crowds due to the low prices we will be offering. Everything, including our newest merchandise and special orders, will be sold during this historic sale,” said the owners, who also own Wright Furniture in Hannibal and Howard’s Furniture in Bowling Green. Special sale hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Mon.-Tues., Thurs.-Fri.; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat.; and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sun,; closed on Wed.
