The descendants of Shelah Waters, of Tennessee, gathered on September 28 for the annual Waters Reunion held at The Junction Restaurant in Perry.
Several family members attended the Centennial of the Olivet Christian Church in Center on September 14 when the 100th year of the current building was celebrated.
George Waters, Sr., an ancestor, was on the first official board when the Olivet Church was organized in 1830, and a stained glass window in the current building is dedicated to him.
Photos, newspaper articles, and the printed centennial booklet and program were displayed.
Gene Waters prepared a paper on the event for each family present.
A cake made using a recipe from the collection of the late Lillian Waters Gore was served.
She was an outstanding cook and left a large collection of recipes. The cake was made by her granddaughter, Marilyn Johnson.
