Wanda L. Werner

Wanda Louise (Evans) Werner passed away at 2:55 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the family’s home in Vandalia.
No visitation was held. Service was held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Officiating was the Rev. Bob Hoehn.
Interment of her cremains was in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Wanda Louise (Evans) Werner was born on February 27, 1927 in rural Vandalia, the daughter of Paul Benn and Louise Anna (Keller) Evans.
She married Ray Werner on November 3, 1946 at the First Presbyterian Church in Vandalia.
Werner was a 1945 graduate of Rensselaer High School and has lived all her married life in Vandalia.
She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Vandalia where she and husband Ray Werner were married in 1946.
She was also active in the Ruth Circle, helped with Sunday School, Bible School, and the nursery.
Wanda Werner also enjoyed sewing, embroidery, gardening, flowers, and puzzles.
Survivors include husband, Ray of Vandalia; one son, Leslie E. and wife, Kelly Werner of Sturgeon; three daughters, Cathy L. and husband, Jerry Potts of Montreal, Mo.; Janis R. and husband, Tom Biesemeyer of Columbia, and Lydia A. Neill of Vandalia; one sister, Mary Ann Montgomery, of Lexington, Mo.; two grandchildren, Christa and husband, Anthony Westhusing of Linn Creek, Mo.; Brad and wife, Staci Potts of Camdenton; three great-grandchildren, Ella Westhusing, Sophia Westhusing, and Blake Potts; also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jack Evans and Bill Evans; and one grandson, Brian Neill.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia, Mo.
