VIVIAN M. WHITEAKER

Vivian Maybelle (Trower) Whiteaker, age 86, of Vandalia, passed away unexpectedly at 6:32 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, Mo.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 4-6 p.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel in Vandalia.
A service was held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Waters Funeral Chapel.
Officiating will be the Pastor Mark Phelps. Music was provided by MUSIC.
Interment was in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clifton Whiteaker, Brandon Whiteaker, Marvin Yager Jr., Eddie Hoover, Donald Hoover, and Ray Oden.
Vivian Maybelle (Trower) Whiteaker was born on May 10, 1927 in Olney, Mo., the daughter of Henry Earl and Beulah Belle (LeMasters) Trower.
She married Howard Addison Whiteaker on June 5, 1946 in Fresno, Calif.; he preceded her in death on May 12, 1987.
Vivian attended Middletown schools and graduated from the Middletown High School in the 1945 class. She and Howard moved to Vandalia shortly after they were married in 1946.
Vivian has been a longtime member of the Southside Baptist Church and was a fulltime homemaker.
She enjoyed to crochet, working crossword puzzles, collecting bells, music and singing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Vivian and Howard had traveled extensively in the past, fishing and camping.
Survivors include: one son, David W. Whiteaker of Farber; three grandchildren, Clifton W. Whiteaker of Roodhouse, Ill.; Ongelia J. Cross, of St. Louis; Brandon W. Whiteaker of Mexico, Mo.; six great-grandchildren, Tyler J. Wilson, John A. Wilson, Taquilla S. Cross, Zachary Pickard, Kaden B. Whiteaker and Brooklyn R. Whiteaker; niece, Helen and husband, Herb Jones of St. Charles, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard; one brother, Earl Lyndol Trower; two sisters, Opal Pauline Sadoyan and Tressie Lorene Davidson.
Memorials are encouraged to the Southside Baptist Church in Vandalia.
