Virginia Howdeshell celebrates 80th birthday

On Friday evening at the Vandalia Country Club, a party was given for Virginia Howdeshell’s 80th birthday.
It was given by her daughter Rita who was assisted by Virginia’s sisters Barbara Hawkinson and Mary Helen Eskew.
Those who came were Rita and her friend and co-worker Liz Schwartz, of Dallas, Texas; grandson Timothy Howdeshell, from Denver, Colo.; cousin Martha Kreder, from Sulphur Springs, Ark.; brother Bill Largent and his  son Clint; brother Charles LaRgent and his wife Barbara, from Independence; aunt Margaret McCurdy and her daughter Judy Canterbury, and Edna Berry, of Wellsville; Vickie Lemasters, of Mexico; and Debbie Welch, of Vandalia.
Debbie and I have the same birthday and the same middle name from our grandmother. Also attending were cousins Betty Kliensorge, of Mexico; and J.L. Davidson and wife Sharon, of Montgomery City; John and Tina Largent, of Center; Jamie and Erica Largent and children, of St. Peters; Larry and Missy Eskew, of Moberly; Kassi Slater and grandmother Nova Slater, of Columbia; Brent and Tara Lewis and daughters Gracey and Kelly, Crystal Splain and son Parker, of Curryville; Barbara and Marion Hawkinson, of Farber; brother Gene Largent and wife Cathy, Mary Helen and friend Larry Anderson, Sarah Boston, Bev Largent, Pat and Jan Albright, Tammy Sidwell, Nora Slater, Amber Weatherby and sons Kyler, Kayson, and Karter, all of Vandalia.
