Memorial Day Services will be held May 26 at the following locations: Curryville Cemetery at 8 a.m., Farber Cemetery at 8:30 a.m., Memorial Garden at 9 a.m., and at Vandalia Cemetery at 9:30 a.m.
The main ceremony will be at 10 a.m. in the VFW Hall Post No. 2173. Larry Shaw will present the welcome and opening comments. The Rev. Robert Hoehn, of Spencer Creek Baptist Church, will give the invocation. VFW Post No. 2173 will perform the presentation of colors. Kevin Morris will sing the national anthem. Larry Shaw will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Brian Hummel will sing, “Proud to be an American.”
Larry Shaw will introduce the guest speaker, the Rev. Joel Montgomery.
The St. Cecilia Music Club will sing the “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” The VFW Post No. 2173 and Auxiliary will perform the gravesite service. A Rifle Salute will follow. Taps and Echo will be presented by the Van-Far Chiefs Band.
