The Ladies’ Auxiliary to VFW Post No. 2173 met on Thursday, February 13, at the post home in Vandalia. President Victoria Shaw called the 7 p.m. meeting to order. Opening ceremonies were observed.
The minutes were approved for the November meeting. December and January meetings had been canceled due to bad weather. The treasurer’s reports December, January, & February were filed. Correspondence read included General Orders No. 5 December 2013; General Orders No. 6 for January/February; thank you note from Edward Parks; and donation requests from The Salvation Army in St. Louis, the Van-Far 2014 Project Prom Committee, and the Missouri Veterans Home Assistance League in Mexico, Mo.

Under unfinished business the memorial service for Opal Stotaler was conducted by Ann Wasson & Donna DeTienne. The second quarter audit report was presented and approved. Motions were passed to donate to the Van-Far Project Prom 2014, LAVFW Junior Girls, LAVFW Past Presidents Scholarship fund, the LAVFW Patriotic Art Fund and Voice of Democracy Fund as well as a donation to the VA Hospital Fund. The decision to donate to the Missouri Veterans Home project was tabled until the March meeting.
Closing ceremonies were observed. Members in attendance were Joy Davis, Donna DeTienne, Val Galloway, Judy Hull, Norma Shaw, Victoria Shaw, and Ann Wasson.
The next auxiliary meeting is Thursday, March 13, at the post home.
