Veterans honored during Community R-VI celebration

The Community R-VI School District hosted a special Veterans Day Celebration last Thursday to recognize area veterans for their service.
A “Presentation of Colors” was given by the Missouri Military Academy (MMA) under the direction of Joseph Elliott.
Wellsville-Middletown senior Emily Blaue followed by singing the “National Anthem.”
Sadie Hoyt led those in attendance in the “Pledge of Allegiance.”
A welcome was given by Sirrina Dunn followed by the High School Choir singing “Song for the Unsung Hero.”
Morgan Bryant read a poem and the Middle School Choir then sang “This is America.”
Bethany Schmidt and Taren Clark led the recognition of the veterans.
The K-5th Grade Choir sang “Bless Our Troops.”
The High School and Middle School Band performed the “Armed Forces on Parade.”
FFA Greenhand officers then noted the Honor Flight fundraiser before Dunn gave the closing remarks.
