The Vandalia Rotary Club applied for and received a grant from District 6060 for its Empowering Girls project.
The $500 grant will go toward the purchase of feminine hygiene products to be made available as needed by the nursing staff and educators at Van-Far Middle and High School.
A national study showed that up to 25% of girls miss school because they do not have these products available to them at home.
The Empowering Girls program began in 2021. It was created to enhance the education, safety, health and well being of young women to transform their futures, their families and their communities.
