On April 12, 2021 at about 2 p.m., members of the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office, the East Central Drug Task Force and the Mexico Public Safety Department executed a narcotics-related search warrant on a hotel room at the Amerihost Inn and Suites on Vance Road in Mexico.
During the service of the warrant, approximately two ounces of Methamphetamine, controlled pharmaceuticals, items of drug paraphernalia used in the illegal use and distribution of controlled substances, and U.S. currency were located and seized.
As a result of the search, the following persons were arrested: Trey Allen Reynolds, 26, of Vandalia, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine; Scott Lee Horton, 44, of Mexico, was arrested for second-degree drug trafficking; Renea Nicole Hill, 38, of Benton City, was arrested for second-degree drug trafficking; and Chad Newton Helton, 35, of Mexico, was arrested for possession of methamphetamines and paraphernalia.
A press release stated that the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office “remains committed to working with our communities, community partners and other area law enforcement agencies to make Audrain County a safe place to work and live. The support of and the input from the community is appreciated.”
