Vandalia man hurt in accident

Accident blocks traffic on highway 54 in Pike County.

One Vandalia man suffered moderate injuries and his passenger was in serious condition after his truck overturned on Highway 54 in Pike County on Friday, March 23.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 1990 Ford F150 driven by Blake Bornhop, age 25, of Vandalia, attempted to overtake a vehicle directly in front of him.
That vehicle reportedly turned left in front of Bornhop’s truck, which traveled off the left side of the roadway before returning back to the road and overturning. Bornhop’s passenger Scott Kuck, age 44, of Bowling Green, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.
He was taken to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur by Air Evac helicopter. Bornhop suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Pike County Medical Center in Louisiana.
