The 1947 Vandalia High School graduating class met for their 67th class reunion on October 4 at the “Country Cupboard” in Vandalia.
At 11:30 a.m., classmates, their spouses, and guests began arriving for fellowship time. Dorris Sanderson Breneman and Ann Riney Wasson greeted everyone as they arrived and Dorris registered everyone.
Each of the two tables had a centerpiece of a fall arrangement.
Ann Riney Wasson presided as spokesperson beginning with a welcome to everyone.
Norma Jean Griggs Willis remembered and listed the 31 deceased members.
Ann told what she had heard about the missing members.
A family-style dinner was prepared and served by “Country Cupboard” personnel at 12:30 p.m. The blessing was given by Norma Jean Willis.
Ann presented the centerpieces to Mel and Betty Weiser Blase who had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and to Marvin and Margie Boyd Burnett who had been married the longest (67 years).
A discussion was held and it was decided we would try to have a 70th reunion, if possible.
Those attending were Norma Jean Griggs Willis, Springfield, Missouri; Mel and Betty Weiser Blase, Betty Moss (widow of Jim  Moss), Columbia; Dorris Sanderson Breneman, Mexico; Jack Folta, Laddonia; Dale and Carol Keller, Farber; Marvin and Margie Boyd Burnett, Fern Wasson Brookshier, Ann Riney Wason and Bill, and Doris Shoemate Nation, all of Vandalia.
