VANDALIA—Van-Far School District is closed because of the potential spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and will continue operations on April 3. All athletic and extracurricular activities are cancelled, as well.
Teachers will provide students supplemental work during the extended hiatus, and parents are encouraged to email teachers with any questions about their child’s schoolwork. Van-Far staff email addresses are found at www.vf.k12.mo.us.
Beginning Monday, March 23, breakfast and lunch will be provided, free of charge, to all students who signed up for the meal plan.
Meals will be delivered on district buses from 11 a.m. to noon, at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center, 100 N. Main; Tri-County Park, South Highland Street; South School Park, 914 S. Main; Bus Lot, 400 N. Main; and the Farber Railroad Park, located at 2 Front Street, in Farber.
Meals will also be provided at the high school from 11 a.m. to noon. The location is the cafeteria’s back door, behind the school near the softball field.
For those parents and students who are unable to go to a pickup point, the district will deliver meals to the student’s residence or the home of a daycare provider.
