Van-Far parents and students packed the bleachers on Monday night for the district’s 2014 “Music In Our Schools Concert.”
The event was under the direction of Alex Cucciarre. He was joined by Kay Bunge, who played the piano during the choir performances.
The evening began with the Jr. High Choir singing “Rhythm of the Reggae” and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Alleluia.”
The Jr. High Band opened their set with “Serengeti Dreams.”
Their second number was “Chorale from Jupiter.” The song  is a personal favorite of Cucciarre’s mother, who traveled 12 hours from Ohio to attend the program.
The band’s final performance was entitled “Epic.”
Van-Far’s High School Choir opened its set with “Cum Sancto Spiritu.” They followed with “Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho” and finished with “Poor, Wayfaring Stranger.”
Van-Far’s High School Band concluded the evening with four songs. They performed “Advance Guard,” “At Sunrise,” “Highlights from Harry Potter,” and “Beyond the Darkness.”
