A young Van-Far golf team continued to have success last week after participating in events held at Elsberry and Montgomery County.
In the Elsberry Invitational on April 20, Brayden Christian shot an 88 to finish 14th overall.
Jayson Orr added a 102, Lathyn McMorris shot a 106, Ethan Winders had a 111, and Daylen Chandler shot a 116.
“All in all we had a good day Sun Valley is not an easy course and is the longest course we’ve played to date,” said Van-Far head golf coach Joe Basinger.
One day later, Christian was the medalist at a Montgomery County Quad match after shooting a 38.
Orr shot a personal best 46, Chandler had a 53, and Winders added a 55. The Indians finished third as a team with 192, which was the squad’s best team score all year for a nine-hole event.
“I think we are playing the best golf of the year which is what you want heading into conference and district,” Basinger said.
