The Van-Far Lady Indians were unable to get their first win of the season last week when they hosted North Callaway in their final game before the Christmas break. Unfortunately, the Lady Thunderbirds improved to 7-1 with a 57-36 victory.
North Callaway led 32-16 at halftime and only lost the fourth quarter by one point in the 21-point victory. Van-Far turned the ball over 19 times in the loss.
“They got off to an early start on us and we couldn’t recover,” said Van-Far head coach Blake Logan. “…That’s our second game where the game should have been a lot closer. You’re going to go down when you can’t take care of the basketball. Our goal is to have less than 10 total turnovers in a single game and we have yet to get there.”
Kasey Gatson led Van-Far with 19 points.
