VANDALIA—The Van-Far FFA held their Food For America annual event with Van-Far elementary students this past Friday Sept. 13 beginning at 7:45 a.m.
The event helps the FFA to educate elementary students about America’s largest industry and as to where their food comes from.
Elementary students this year learned about “Roxy” the cow and her baby calf, Anna, who is half Angus, and half Herford. They learned that food products such as beef, and dairy products come from these animals
Students also were educated about rabbits, pigs, chickens, and horses as they interacted with FFA members at the multiple stations located on the school property.
Along with getting to meet and greet the animals, elementary students sampled, popcorn and orange juice while learning where these products come from.
The Van-Far FFA also had several larger farm vehicles on display for the students to see and explore.
