Van-Far Elementary students hold Veterans Day event

Van-Far Elementary School students put together a Veterans Day Program last Friday to pay tribute to area veterans.
Brady Puls, Honestei Martin, and Petyon Kim gave the welcome.
The “Pledge of Allegiance” was led by Lance Wheeler, Kashton Rhodes, Chase McCurdy, and Skylie Salmon.
Under the direction of Kay Bunge, elementary students then sang the “Star Spangled Banner.”
A special “What is Veterans Day?” program was held. Students helping included Emma Francis, Megan McCurdy, Khloe Wallace, Chase Wright-McAfee, Faith Griffith, Kenya Jones, Slade Keller, Lucas Lovell, Kaleb Baskett, Dae’Vion Shannon, Chloe Zumwalt, Mylee Keller, Elliott Utterback, Garrett Hopke, Tommy Vogt, Ebony Fraction, and Kinzie Carman.
Connie Reyes led the recognition of the veterans.
This year’s guest speaker was Clayton Schoneboom, who was introduced by Ronnie Stanich. Students then sang “God Bless America” before the 2nd grade performed a “Patriotic Medley.”
A thank you to veterans was given by Madison Evans, Deanna Zumwalt, Roze Bagley, Laney Cashman, and Bryson Maiden. Van-Far Elementary Principal Brian Hummel gave the closing remarks.
