The Van-Far cross country team had some success at recent meets.
In Clopton on the girls side, Maddie McAfee took eighth and medaled with a 26:44 and Vanessa was 17th with a 29:26 so just missed medaling.
On the boys side, Sam Hazel was third with a time of 19:16, Mel Troy was 13th with a time of 20:29, Caden Wilburn was 36th with a time of 24:25 which is a minute faster than what he has run before and was a personal record. Cayden Caldwell had trouble breathing with the hot and humid conditions and was 44th with a time of 26:18. Ennis Childs was 47th with a time of 28:30 and Jayson Orr was 50th with a time of 30:57.
The boys took sixth out of seven teams.
“I’m looking forward to finally seeing the kids run in some cooler conditions this weekend at Conference, which is at North Callaway,” said Van-Far head coach Kris Cross. It will also give us a good chance to see some of our district teams and how we stack up compared to them.”
