The Van-Far graduating Class of 1970 held their 45 year class reunion at the Junction Restaurant at Perry on Saturday, September 26, with 30 classmates, their spouses, friends, and two former teachers in attendance for a total of 50.

A short meeting during the celebration was held with Rick Willis as Master of Ceremonies. A moment of silence followed the reading of the deceased classmates names: Steve Stapleton, Mike Kuda, Loretta (Shaw) Moss, Charlie Suddarth, Nita Cannon, Scott Wasson, Brenda (Fletcher) Fowler, Nikki (Breneman) Talbott Hodges, Alan Hammett, Larry Moore, Josh Overton, and Donnie Smith.
A list of things that happened in 1970 was read to include world affairs, inventions, movies, TV shows, and music. The reunion committee of Patti (Howell) Gibson, Gene Barron, Rick Willis, and Rennie Davis in attendance were thanked for their work. Class members traveling the farthest, most children, most grandchildren, and other milestones were noted.
