In a rescheduled game against Wellsville-Middletown, the Van-Far Indians baseball team was unable to overcome an early Tigers’ offensive outburst in a 13-3 loss.
Wellsville-Middletown’s offense scored seven runs through the first two innings and added three runs in each of the final two innings.
The Tigers outhit the Indians 18-7 as they had four players with at least three hits.
“They hit the ball pretty good and on the nose most of the time,” said Van-Far head coach Wes Rowden. “
Josh Hodde started the game on the mound and struggled with a two-strike lead in the count as he gave up a hit six times in those situations. He did pick up seven strikeouts in the loss.
Logan Wilson led the Van-Far offense with three hits.
Both Treyson Culwell and Hodde had two hits and Layten McMillen added one hit.
Wyatt McDowell, Wilson, and Culwell each had one RBI. Caden Wilburn, Hodde, and Culwell each scored one run.
