The Ladies Auxiliary to the V.F.W. Post No. 2173 met Thursday, February 9, at the Post Home.
President Victoria Shaw called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Opening Ceremonies were conducted by Chaplain Mary Gramley and Patriotic Instructor Vivian Davis.
The minutes were approved as read.
The Treasurer’s report was given and filed.
A memorial donation was made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in memory of a member’s deceased husband.
Donations were made to the Junior Girls Fund, the Voice of Democracy Contest, the Patriotic Art Award, and the Past National Presidents’ Scholarship.
Kimberly Shaw Graves became a new member.
Bills were paid and the quarterly audit report was accepted.
A donation was made to the Department of Missouri Veterans’ Hospital Fund.
The members completed the annual donation to the organizations’ cancer fund.
Members were reminded that all district reports are due April 15.
Closing ceremonies were observed.
Those members attending were Vivian Davis, Joy Davis, Donna DeTienne, Val Galloway, Mary Gramley, Judy Hull, Norma Shaw, Victoria Shaw, and Ann Wasson.
The next meeting will be Thursday, March 8, at the Tri County Care Center in Vandalia to celebrate a member Alvina Mollet’s birthday.
