V.F.W. Ladies’ Auxiliary meets

The Ladies’ Auxiliary to VFW Post No. 2173 met on Thursday, March 14, at the post home in Vandalia.  President Victoria Shaw called the 7 p.m. meeting to order.  Opening ceremonies were lead by Chaplain Mary Gramley and Patriotic Instructor Vivian Davis.
The minutes were approved as read.  The treasurer’s report was filed. Correspondence was read included General Orders  No. 7, thanks for holiday contributions for Edward Parks and John Fitzgerald from the Assistance League of Missouri Veterans’ Home in Mexico, Mo.; and appreciation for the donation of clothing protectors for the residents of the Missouri Veterans’ Home.  Community Service Chairman Ann Wasson collected hours from members present.
Donations were made to the Van-Far Project Prom Committee, to the following VFW project funds:  Junior Girls, Voice of Democracy, Patriotic Art Contest, and Past Presidents’ Scholarship. It was announced that Dean Andrews is a resident of the Missouri Veterans’ Home in Mexico, Mo. Members in attendance were Joy Davis, Vivian Davis, Val Galloway, Mary Gramley, Janet Shaw, Norma Shaw, Victoria Shaw and Ann Wasson. The next auxiliary meeting is Thursday, April 11, at the post home.
