Two Van-Far golfers earned All-EMO Conference honors last week after competing in the event held at Montgomery County.
Van-Far’s Brayden Christian led the Indians after shooting a 45 on both the front and back nine for a 90 and fourth place overall. The 90 gave him first-team, all-conference honors.
Teammate Lathyn McMorris shot a 46 on the front nine before struggling on the back nine with a 54 for a 100. The score was good enough for second-team, all-conference honors. Jayson Orr was third on the team with a 110, Daylen Chandler shot a 135, and Ethan Winders added a 137. The team score of 435 was good enough for fifth place in the seven-team match.
Elsberry won the team title with a 350 as Elsberry’s Gavin Hill won the individual title by eight strokes with a 77.
“I’m really proud of the kids,” said Van-Far head golf coach Joe Basinger. “Bear Creek is an extremely difficult course and to put two kids in the Top-10 is a great accomplishment.”
