Two Columbia residents sent to hospital after Audrain hydroplane crash near Mexico

Two Columbia residents sent to hospital after Audrain hydroplane crash on Thursday, May 27, at 9:50 a.m. on Missouri Highway 22 near Mexico.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 2010 Dodge Journey driven by Sarah Hunter, 36, of Columbia, hydroplaned, ran off the right side of the road and struck a bridge rail.

Hunter and her passenger, Shawn Hunter, 37, 0f Columbia, were taken to Audrain Community Hospital by Audrain Ambulance. The driver suffered “minor injuries” and the passenger suffered ” moderate injuries,” according to the report. Both were wearing seat belts.
