Foul trouble hurt the Trojans early in their matchup with Wright City on the road last week.
The bench responded as the Trojans led 19-6 at the end of the first quarter and helped the Trojans hold on for a 32-24 halftime edge.
Community R-VI responded in the second half by outscoring the Wildcats 48-39 to win the game 80-63.
“(We had an) early foul problem,” said head coach Kenneth Jett. “(We) went into the bench and it stepped up big. (It was a) good road win. (Gave us an) even better chance to grow as a team.”
Lane Thebeau scored a team-high 21 points while Clay Thebeau had 16 points and four assists. Brooks added a near double-double with nine points and seven rebounds; Davenport had nine points and three assists; Arens added eight points and five rebounds; Gage Graves was solid off the bench with five points; and Adam Hombs scored two points.
