Community R-VI’s Hunter Houghton awaits a throw against Bowling Green.

The Community R-VI baseball team ran into Bowling Green last week and lost their first EMO Conference game of the season, 10-1.

The Trojans opened the game with a 1-0 lead when Levi Rafferty’s RBI scored Matt Gastler for the lone run.

Bowling Green answered with two runs in the first, four in the second, and four over the final two innings.

The Trojans made three errors in the loss.

Also adding base hits were Phillip Doms, Grant Stafford, Avery Carline, and Cordell Hollensteiner.

Gastler earned the loss on the mound after allowing five earned runs while striking out three.

Hunter Houghton tossed an inning in relief and gave up just one hit and no earned runs, though three unearned runs scored.

The Bobcats’ offense had just seven hits in the seven-inning win.
