Trojans drop first game of season

The Community R-VI Trojans lost their first game of the season last Thursday night as they fell to rival Van-Far, 11-5.
The Trojans led 1-0 early as Matt Gastler had an RBI single to score Evan Hartsock. Unfortunately, Van-Far answered with five runs through the next two innings to go up 5-1.
The Trojans answersed an Indians three-run top of the sixth inning with three runs of their own.
Nathan Gastler hit a bases-clearing double to scored Justin Duenke, Matt Gastler, and Hartsock. He added a sacrfice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning to score Duenke as the Trojans lost by six runs.
Nathan Gastler finished with four RBIs; both Hartsock and Duenke scored two runs; and Matt Gastler tallied one RBI and one run scored.
Nathan Gastler had the loss on the mound after allowing five earned runs on three hits in three innings with five strikeouts and four walks.
Cordell Hollensteiner tossed four innings and allowed six earned runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts and five walks.
