Monday, July 9
Exercises were held at 10 a.m. with Davaline Overton. Kitty McCurdy assisted.
The First Christian Church held their monthly program at 1:30 p.m. with Grace Wortman and Jean Barnes in charge. The 5th and 6th grade Sunday School class entertained with several selections and they played trivia. Refreshments of homemade cookies, brownies and lemonade were served. Those who attended from the church were Taylor Gregory, Jake Young, Mackenzie Kurz, Walker Franke, Gina Clausen and Nickie Gregory. A large crowd was in attendance.
At 6 p.m. the Bi-weekly Bible Class was held with Denna Nichols.
Tuesday, July 10
Residents enjoyed the game of Hill-Billy Golf at 10 a.m. with assistance of staff.
Exercises were held at 1:30 p.m. with Kassie Scott. Assisting with the activity were  Kitty McCurdy, Susan Jennings and Donna Johnson.
The monthly musical program with Wayne Lynn and Marvin Soey was held at 6:30 p.m. with a large crowd attending.
Wednesday, July 11
Kassie Scott led the 9 a.m. exercises.
The Vandalia Leader was read by Davaline Overton at 10 a.m.
At 1:30 p.m. residents enjoyed a Variety Show with a number of acts from Ryan Miller, Kyle Ebers, Matthew Nobbe, Ashley Potter, Marissa Cunningham, Tanner Wright, Stacy Hamlett and Davaline Overton. A large crowd was in attendance.
The Faith Tabernacle Church held their monthly devotional program at 6:30 p.m. with a large crowd in attendance.
Thursday, July 12
The Second Christian Church held their monthly devotional program with Inez McPike, Lillian Johnson, Virgie Overton, Joann Cockrell and Katherine Salmon. Residents received fresh fruit.
The Mexico Hot Steppers line dancers entertained residents at 1:30 p.m. Dancers included Fred West, JoAnn Rolt, Betty Potts, Dorothy Black, Frances Lavinder, Sue Walchter, Beverly Talley and Mary Ellen Sweitzer.
Friday, July 13
Residents enjoyed exercises with Kassie Scott at 9 a.m.
A large number of East Hall residents were entertained with the movie “Ma and Pa Kettle” at 10 a.m. Kassie Scott provided assistance.
A game of bingo was enjoyed by residents with volunteers Norma Daniels, Doris Ray, Jewel Hammett and Patsy Clithero. A large crowd was in attendance.
Saturday, July 14
Residents were entertained with a movie. Angie Gerderman assisted.
Sunday, July 15
The First Baptist Church was in charge of services at 2 p.m. Next week will be the Southside Baptist Church conducting services. The Activity Department received donations from Joy Branstetter and Shirley Maxwell. The Department is still in need of prizes for bingo and jingo games for the residents.
