Monday, Dec. 19
Residents enjoyed making donuts at 10 a.m. with staff assistance.
The Pike County Christian School walked through the Care Center singing Christmas Carols at 1 p.m. The residents enjoyed the event.
At 1:30 p.m. residents were entertained with Grandma singing Christmas songs, dancing and talking with each of the residents. Refreshments of cake and punch were served. The “Grandma” was really Sandra Rice dressed like an elderly granny.
Tuesday, Dec. 20
Exercises were held at 10 a.m. with Patti Ingram, assisted by Kassie Scott.
The First Christian Church held their monthly program at 10 a.m.
They played a game of bingo with the residents who really enjoyed it. Those who assisted were Karen Gregory, Taylor Gregory, Nicki Gregory and Kim Gregory. Residents received their choice of cookie and candy treat or a Christmas ornament.
At 6:30 p.m. residents enjoyed the monthly musical program of Charles Nutt and family. A large crowd was in attendance.
Wednesday, Dec. 21
The Vandalia Leader was read by Patsy Clithero at 10 a.m.
The trivia game of Christmas Jingo was enjoyed by residents at 1:30 p.m. The staff assisted in the activity.
Thursday, Dec. 22
A 10 a.m. memorial service was held for Edna Bailey with family members in attendance.
The resident’s Christmas party was held from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. with a very large crowd in attendance.
Friday, Dec. 23
The East Hall residents enjoyed music with assistance of Amanda Hawkins.
The staff assisted residents on the West and some from East Hall as they enjoyed three games of bowling.
Saturday, Dec. 24
Ice cream floats and Christmas music was enjoyed by residents. Kitty McCurdy and Kassie Scott assisted.
Sunday, Dec. 25
The Spencer Creek Baptist Church held the 2 p.m. worship service. Next week Second Baptist Church will be in charge of services.

Monday, Dec. 26
At 10 a.m. the trivia game of Birthday Jingo was enjoyed by residents, assisted by the staff.
Exercises were held at 1:30 p.m. with assistance of Kassie Scott and Kitty McCurdy.
The Bi-weekly Bible Class lead by Denna Nichols was held at 6 p.m.
A large crowd was in attendance.
Tuesday, Dec. 27
Residents enjoyed Hill-Billy Golf game with assistance of the staff.
Exercises were held at 1:30 p.m. with Kassie Scott and Davaline Overton assisting the residents.
Wednesday, Dec. 28
The Vandalia Leader was read by Patsy Clithero.
At 1:30 p.m. residents enjoyed the trivia game of Bible Jingo with a large crowd in attendance.
Thursday, Dec. 29
A large number of the residents enjoyed drinking strawberry and banana smoothies at 10 a.m.
Kassie Scott assisted residents in exercises at 1:30 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 30
Residents from the East and West Hall enjoyed the movie “Red Skelton Comedy.”
At 1:30 p.m. residents enjoyed a movie and popcorn. They were assisted by Angie Gerdeman.
Sunday, Jan. 1
The Second Christian Church was in charge of services. Next week will be the First Baptist Church.
The Activity Department would like to say thanks to everyone who donated thru Christmas.
