Monday, Dec. 12
The Coffee Hour was held with Calvin Hull and Bob Pabst as hosts. Residents enjoyed music selections from Jim and Nancy Dunn, Larry and Mary Ellen Dunn, and Julie Gatson. Refreshments of coffee, hot chocolate and donuts were served. Everyone had a good time.
Tuesday, Dec. 13
The Morning Play Care children came out and sang Christmas Carols. They were served cake and punch and Santa Claus was available to talk with them and gave them all a treat. A large crowd was in attendance.
The Afternoon Play Care children came and sang Christmas Carols for the residents. Santa Clause was available again and passed out treats to the kids. Refreshments of cake and punch were served. A large crowd was in attendance.
At 6:30 p.m. the Monthly Musical program with Wayne and Roy Lynn, and Justin and Christy Franke was held with a large crowd in attendance.
Wednesday, Dec. 14
The Vandalia Leader was read by Patsy Clithero.
At 1 p.m. the residents Christmas Auction was held with a large selection of items. Everyone received something. Floyd Bishop, with help from Lloyd McCurdy, Joy Branstetter and Carolyn Greenplate, assisted with the auction.
The Monthly Devotional program with Faith Tabernacle Church was held at 6:30 p.m .with a large crowd in attendance.
Thursday, Dec. 15
The Kindergarden class of Van-Far Elementary School was out and sang Christmas carols for the residents. A total of 55 children came out. They were given Christmas treats from the residents.
At 10 a.m. Christmas gift wrapping took place from 10 – 11 a.m. for residents who needed gifts wrapped.
Exercises were held with Kassie Scott, assisted by Kitty McCurdy.
Friday, Dec. 16
Residents continued wrapping gifts at 10 a.m. and enjoying music selections on the piano from Earlene Hopke.
Saturday, Dec. 17
Residents enjoyed a movie and popcorn at 1:30 p.m. with assistance of Angie Gerdeman.
Sunday, Dec. 18
The St. John Lutheran Church held the worship services at 2 p.m. Next week will be the Spencer Creek Baptist Church in charge of services.
The Living Waters Ministries came out and sang Christmas Songs from Perry, Mo.
The Brice Happy Hustlers 4-H Group came out on Sunday, Dec. 12th.
Pike County Christian School came Dec. 19 at 1 p.m. and sang Christmas songs down the hall.
