There were three fatalities in a three vehicle accident, two miles south of Laddonia around 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 12.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kierra Glispie, age 24, of Justice, Ill. was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and attempted to pass a 2014 Freightliner driven by Roby Sharp, age 50, of Liberty, Ill.
Glispie, who was not wearing a seat belt, hit head-on a vehicle driven by 75-year-old Douglas Turner, of Licking, Mo. and pushed Turner’s vehicle into the Freightliner.
Glispie suffered serious injuries and was transported to the University Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
Her passenger, Kyreoin Glispie, age 18, who was also not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead by Dr. James Brillhart around 3:30 p.m. at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital-Audrain.
Douglas Turner and his wife Helen Turner, age 72, were both pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Kevin Cast. The Turners were both reportedly wearing their seat belts.
Sharp, who drove the 2014 Freightliner and wore a seat belt, did not have any reported injuries.
The three fatalities give Troop F a total of six in July and 36 total for 2018.
