Thomas August Rowe, age 99, of Louisiana, formerly of Bowling Green, passed away April 15, 2014 at the Maple Grove Lodge in Louisiana.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Dr. Mike Gillen officiating.  Burial was  in the Ashley Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation was from 5 p.m. to  7 p.m., Friday, April 18.
Mr. Rowe was born Oct. 3, 1914 in Benton City the son of Thomas Woodward and Carolyn Rebekka Elizabeth Meyer Rowe.  He married Frances Warren Smith on June 27, 1936.  She preceded him in death.
Survivors include five children Carolyn Mae Clark of Ontario, Calif., Rebekka W. Hook of Hannibal, Thomas A. Rowe Jr. and wife Jacque of Gilbert, Ariz., Sam M. Rowe and wife Kathy of Curryville, Paulette Haden and husband Larry of Ennis, Texas; grandchildren Samuel Dale Hook and wife Theresa, Thomas Clark Jr., Teresa Branch and husband Flint, Tracey Austin and husband Steve, Joe Hook, Steven Haden and wife Sylvia, Michael Swarnes and wife Susan, Amanda Haas and husband Darryl, Sam Rowe Jr., August (Tud)  Rowe; great grandchildren Shaun Hook and wife Jessica, Austin Hook, Brandi Austin, Tanner Branch, Logan Branch, Jaret Branch, Garrett Swarnes, Trenton Haas, Abby Haas; and  four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his spouse, parents, a brother Ralph Rowe and a grandson Herman Rowe.
Tom lived in Ashley and Bowling Green most of his life and was of Methodist faith.  He farmed most of his life and was a lifetime member of the Angus Association.  Tom enjoyed gardening, hunting pheasants and quail. Most of all he enjoyed raising his family. Pallbearers will be Samuel Hook, Shaun Hook, Austin Hook, Darryl Haas, Sam Rowe Jr., August (Tud) Rowe.
Honorary pallbearers will be Amanda Haas, Thomas Clark Jr., Steven Haden, Joe Hook and Michael Swarnes.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Heartland Hospice.
