Not too long ago, the Community R-VI Trojans celebrated Clay Thebeau’s milestone when he scored his 1,000th career point on an assist from his brother Lane Thebeau.
Clay returned the favor last Friday night when he assisted Lane on his 1,000th career point during the Trojans 15-point victory over Montgomery County.
The impressive win kept Community R-VI in the running for the EMO Conference title as it is now 8-1 against conference opponents.
“(It was a) hard fought game in conference, like it should be,” said Community R-VI head boys basketball coach Kenneth Jett.
“(We) really shared the ball well tonight, 14 assists, which was the difference. We passed the ball so well against there pressure defense. Montgomery County hit six 3’s in the second half but we answered every time with a great shoot of our own.”
Community R-VI’s overall record is 18-4.
Brandon Arens led the Trojans with 16 points.
Lane Thebeau had 16 points and five assists; Clay Thebeau had 14 points and four assists; Conner Brooks scored 11 points and five assists; Kyle Curtis added six points and six rebounds; Anthony Fairchild added four points; and Doug Davenport scored two points.
