One of the biggest goals for “The Vandalia Leader” is to provide advertisers with high-quality ads for local businesses.
That focus was rewarded by their peers with four special awards won during the 2017 Missouri Ad Managers’ Association’s Best Ad Contest.
“The Vandalia Leader” had three ads win second place awards and placed third in another category.
In the “Best Ad No Smaller Than a 1/4 Page” category, a Gentle Healthy Smiles ad, designed by TVL ad designer Crystal Beatty, received second place honors. The ad featured a photo of the two dentists along with logos of the many insurance companies accepted by the business.
Beatty also earned third place in the same category for an ad designed for AlSAT Wireless.
Her Ultimate Image ad in the “Best Ad Smaller than 1/4 Page” also took second. This ad was made in full color and wished the Community R-VI softball team the best of luck at districts.
In the “Best Single House Ad” category, both Beatty and General Manager/Editor Ron Schott won a second place award for an ad promoting a graduation advertising opportunity. In the ad sketched out by Schott before Beatty made it come to life, it featured a throwback photo of Schott playing baseball in the 7th grade.
“Once again, I’m not surprised that Crystal has been recognized for her efforts on the statewide level,” Schott said. “She works tirelessly to provide high-quality ads for advertisers every week and I’m extremely thankful for her efforts and creative ability. I’m also thankful for the opportunity to partner with area businesses as the Leader designs ads geared towards helping them reach their goals on a weekly basis.”
