“The Missouri Boys,” a trio of young singers from Vandalia, are officially going viral on June 9 with the Summer release of their single on iTunes entitled “Live Inside of Me.” Their uncle, Jeff Mims Jr., wrote and produced the single.
The group consists of Josiah and Jonah Edmond, twin brothers, age 7, along with their cousin Tyrece Cole, age 8.
“The Missouri Boys” started singing in their grandfather’s church (Second Missionary Baptist Church) and after their first performance, they haven’t stopped singing and traveling extensively.
Their music ranges from quartet to contemporary gospel.
Grandparents Jeff and Pamela Mims provide the music for the group.
The twins come from a long line of singers. Their great-grandfather was a gospel quartet singer; their grandfather is a musician and has played for many gospel quartets; their mother Halley Davis is a gospel soloist; Tyrece’s grandfather has sung with the male chorus at the church for years; and Tyrece’s mother Shamene Holt sings with the praise and worship team and is also part of the praise dance ministry.
“The Missouri Boys” have grown up around gospel music and are taking their music to another level. When they are not singing, they are typical young boys, with a love for mini-bikes and WWE wrestling.
